This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect about you during your visit to www.hepoex.com (the "Site") and how that information may be used. By accepting the Site’s Terms of Use , you consent to such use of your information.

What information do we collect?

If you decide to use the services provided by the Site, you are required to log in with your HealthVault™ account. At the time of registration, the Site creates and stores a unique id mapped to your HealthVault™ account. This id is unique for this Site and can NOT be used to identify your HealthVault™ account from any other HealthVault™ enabled application.
The Site also retrieves your name from the HealthVault™ account when you browse the Site. No other information is retrieved or stored from your HealthVault™ account.
When registering on the Site as a healthcare consumer, you are required to provide some more information. This information includes your email address, a secret question and answer to the secret question.
Any data that is not required is specified as voluntary or optional.
The Site automatically tracks certain information about your interaction with the site using web analytics tools. This includes information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages that you visit in the site. Additionally we also track the URL that you came from, search engine (if you used one) and the keywords that you used in the search engine to find the Site.

What do we use your information for?

The unique id derived from your HealthVault™ account is used to identify you and retrieve your account details on your subsequent visits. The Site uses HealthVault™ site to validate your user name and password; therefore you don't have to enter a password on the Site. You can review HealthVault Privacy Policy here
The secret question and answer are used to encrypt the Health Information Packages (HIP) that is sent by the provider.
Your email is used to send you details of retrieving your Health Information Package and the secret code.
We may send you periodic emails regarding update to the Service or information about your Hepoex account.
The information gathered by the web statistics tool is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track movements on the site and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. This information is NOT linked to your HePoEx Account information.

You may visit our Site anonymously.
We will not share your email with any other company without your permission, except as otherwise specified in this Privacy Policy Statement.
We will not disclose your Hepoex user Id, secret question and answer to anyone at all.
If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed instructions for unsubscribing at the bottom of each email.
The secret code for a Health Information Package is not shared with anyone and is not stored on our servers. The code is sent to the registered email as soon as it is generated.
We do not store or monitor the contents of any documents in the Health Information Packages that are transmitted using the Site. The Site only acts as a medium for secure transmission of the documents to HealthVault™ website.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information and to ensure the security of the Health Information Packages sent from the site. These security measures include:

We use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology to ensure that all exchange of information is fully encrypted and sent across the Internet securely. Our Site's security and validity is verified by VeriSign™, one of the most trusted SSL certificate authority. The Site is scanned daily by McAfee to protect our servers from hackers and other vulnerabilities.
All information is stored behind a firewall and can only be accessed by authorized users with special access rights to our systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

We will not disclose your unique HealthVault™ id (created by system), secret question and answer to anyone at all.
We will not share your email address with any other company without your permission, except as otherwise specified in this Privacy Policy Statement and Terms of Use of this Site.
We may need to release your information to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others' rights, property, or safety.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent. As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our site may make any changes to their information at anytime by logging into their account and going to the 'My Profile' page.
